HC limit is 1800. She was 1858. CO limit is 5.50. She was 5.91. I am running the stock 28mm carbs. I have a set of 26mm from a KZ1000. Anyone know if the 26mm would run leaner? Any suggestions?

Just put in 1 size smaller pilot jet and tune it real lean on the screws before the test.
Ride it for at least an hour before hand, then keep tuning the screws leaner and leaner and raise the idle, till it starts to hesitate when pulling away, then backup your screw changes by a half turn.
Then your good to go!

1) Ride to the testing station.
2) Before going in line, lean out the pilots where barely idling on it's own. ~ 1 - 1.5 turns.
3) Tweak back "Rich ~ 1/16th to 1/8th turn so it does idle during the test... As you know, once the test starts you're not allowed to touch/tweak in the bay...
4) Turn the engine off and then try and restart... If she is too hard to start or you have to choke her way out to start, tweak them a tad (1/16th of a turn) richer.
5) Take her in the bay...
Following this procedure, at the time I did this last year, my jets where off as follows and still easily passed...
Main Jets: Have dropped 2 sizes
Slow Jets: (pilots) dropped 2 sizes
Needle: Dropped 1 size leaner
I just had to go through myself, was slightly over mid way in the measurements.... June, this may no longer be required... :woohoo:

Brings up another thought....
When was the last time a thorough tune up was performed?
Valve clearances, carb sync, ignition timing etc...
Assumption is it runs well, no smoke, sparkies look good not black/carbon/oiled/soot etc...
