I just put my motor back together it has a 1075kit in it.The
head has been ported, polished, bronze guides, under bucket shims, and the cams are bigger(cant remember what kind or size).I'm running 29 mikuni smooth bores and an open Vance and Hines header.I'm currently running either 117.5 or 120 main jets and cant remember what size idle jets. What would be a good size jet combo to run(unless the 120's are o.k.).

on the street with a 1075 kit ported head and decent cams i use either 117's or 120 depending on the time of year and i use 20 pilots i put the needles in the center position. works very well for me so i'm not changing unless needed by the way where i live and ride mostly is around 2200 ft of elevation if your closer to sea level you may have to richen up your mains a bit. and by the way no matter what some boneheads on here act like there are some people on here that know our stuff and have had alot of experiance as well

Seems that the 120main are fine and I'm gonna go to 20 pilots.I think I have 17's now.Adjust the needles to the center and see how she runs then.
thx for all input.

Here's a link to info from Z1E
www.z1enterprises.com/reference/z1-carb-guide.aspx

Which includes the following:

Below is a reference of jet settings for the 29mm carb on Z1 / KZ engines. This is a good starting point for a bike with 4-1 exhaust, after market cams (up to 0.410" lift) and high compression pistons (approx 10.5:1). Each bike setup is different, so actual settings will vary.

29mm smoothbores Z1 / KZ900 / KZ1000
Main Jet 120
Air Jet 0.9
Needle Jet O-6
Jet Needle 5DL31-3
Throttle valve (slide) 1.5mm cutaway
Pilot Jet 17.5 or 20.0 (or 25 in the later versions)
Air Screw setting 1 1/2 turns out

Good Fortune! :)

Thanks for the link. I rode it a little bit today but didnt make any adjustments yet. It's running good but it can run better. I checked and the cams are webcams 425 lift 260degrees. Once I get a chance I will try to post a video of it running.
