butterfly valve position was created by gigolojoe
Hi,
I'm installing new throttle cables. What position should the butterfly valves on the carbs be in when you go to start the bike and have hands off the throttle? Should they be fully closed or open a little bit?
Thank You

"Just cracked" is a good starting point. Then adjust as needed after started, and warmed up.

Nah, he's right. Hold them up to a light and adjust the idle knob till theres "just a crack" of light coming thru about a half inch wide.
Try and start like that - Full choke, NO THROTTLE input.
If that doesnt work, increase idle a full turn, then retry.
if you still have trouble starting after 5 turns/attempts, try manipulating the choke to about 1/4 less.
GL!
