The boots that hold the carbs onto the head on my bike have nipples, but all of them have caps on them.

Since they are not connected to anything, am I correct that if I buy replacements I don't need the nipples? What are they for anyway?

they are vacuam source for syncronizing the carbs and also for operating vacuam operated accessories like the petcock.unless your going to bigger carbs replace them with the same type just easier that way.

Jody, those nipples are for sycronizing your' carbs. So yes, you need them. PS, its good to check their rubber caps periodicly as they age/harden and can possibly lead to vac.leaks G.

would boots from a z1000 fit the 650, or they have differing intake diameters or screw spacing?
