Vacuum question KZ650 w/VM26 carbs was created by 2006hhr
So, i installed these carbs on my bike, off either a KZ900 or 1000, dual inlets. My KZ650 had stock VM24's, single inlet. So do i need to go with a vacuum petcock off a KZ900 or 1000, or should i use the stock VM24 petcock. Just wondering if the stock one can flow enough fuel for the carbs. 2006hhr

Your's should work just fine. Maybe pull it out and clean out any crap that might have built up on the screen.

I just did one and it was an absolute mess.

Thanks, probably what i need to do then. i just pulled the carbs apart last week and noticed the p.o. had the needle on the richest clip and stock jetting. Shooting for 20 pilots and 120 mains running a 4:1 pipe and pods. I know i would be better off with an airbox, but not sure if i can get a late 70's KZ900 or 1000 box to fit my 1979 KZ650D frame. Thanks again and will be sure to clean ou the petcock, 2006hhr
