I have a '79 KZ1000 E-1 (VM28SS carbs)that was jetted for 6,500+ feet with stock exhaust. Now at sea-level, the bike is not running as good. It has become harder to start and now "bogs down" in 1st gear when accelerating off a full stop to the point it almost kills.

The carburetors were recently cleaned and valves adjusted last fall before the bike was winterized. Engine runs rich and fouls sparkplugs. Given my setup with PODS and stock exhaust, what main jets, pilot jets and jet needles would give the best performance for sea-level riding? I could replace these myself but have no idea which ones to get because having pod filters is supposed to change jet requirements (from stock)

Also, does having pods mean that every carburetor(s) air screw has to be adjusted differently to achieve the same lean/rich idling mixture as the other carbs? I've been having a hard time dialing in my lean/rich mixture with pods as evidenced by constantly "reading the plugs" and finding some cylinders run a lot richer than others.

stock is 15 pilots,110 mains,e-clip at middle or 3rd slot

I'm at 1200 ft.turbo cams degreed at 105/109 and 10 to 1 pistons with 17.5 pilots and stock replacement K&N,otherwise stock

I thought I had to use different jet sizes with pods because they suck more air than stock.

pods do not suck air

you are still running the stock exhaust.I suggest finding someone who knows what they are doing rebuild the carbs back to stock but use 17.5 pilots and maybe raise the needles one notch
