Trying to jet a carb for the first time was created by grizlywinkleman
I own a '83 kz750 ltd (twin). I put pod filters on it and it doesn't run right. It idles better but when I give it gas it bogs and backfires. I tryed to follow my friends guidence to adjust the jet needles but I only have one slot on mine. So I need to know if I need to replace my pilot jet or main jet. And what size I would roughly need. My Pilot jets have #45 on them and my main jets have none.

Any assisstance from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks much,
Ryan

Start with this, it works OK at best:

Jetting Guide

You will need to buy several sets of Main jets, in order to find the ones that give you the best power delivery and response.
Its going to take alot of patience.

Only change one circuit at a time! Then test...

Good Luck!
