i just got done innstalling a set of early model(85-86) flat slide carbs from a gsxr 750 onto my little drag bike(1015cc). they have been bored out to 33.5 mm i used the intake manifolds and velocity stacks that came with the carbs these carbs had been converted to center pull from the original rightside throttle. i put in a 125 main and after i played around with the accelorator pump settings abit it started on the second kick man do they rock they feel way stronger then my 29 smoothies i'll find out next weekend when i do some dyno runs last year with the 29's it made 112 horsepower i'm betting more this year it is the same exact engine just adjusted the valves. so it will be agood test for them. going off seat of the pants feel and how many gears it spun thru though i definitly feels stronger yee ha. i'll keep you posted

My brother has 2 86 GSXR 750's and he is having a rough time tweaking the carbs. The previous owner butched up the plastic emultion tubes for the needle. Did you have a problem like that?

will post the run if i can figure out how. larry i have a set of 12-1 mtc's stock 1000 bore by the way really old mtc'sas near as i can tell around 1982 vintage a mk 11 head that is mildly ported it's definitlty not one of my better heads stock valve sizing and a set of .395 web cams that i have been running in pretty much evrything since 1996 it's real good working combo. in calgary i ran 10.60's 3700ft or more depending on the day. consistently and in mission b.c sea level,i have gone as quick as 10.20's with this combo so it works pretty well i'm planning on swaping heads out with a big valve setup that i have run down in the 9's with but i've been lazy i just fiished and two other heads for a couple of big blocks so, maybe after the dyno runs maybe i'll swap the valve job does need touching up.

kawickrice i didn't have any problems at all with these carbs in fact i was amazed at how good they worked right out of the box in fact i have 2 more sets and i think i'm going to convert them both to center pull and put them up for sale i know how to do it so look out i will be looking for those carbs for sure again. and craig i know they would make excellent street carbs once they are set up they seem to do everything well.
