what can you tell me about these carbs? was created by kawsakiman
i bought a 750 motor off craigslist because the price was righ. ($50)
it came complete with carbs.
they are keihin carbs and i believe they are 34's.
i have never run keihin on anything i own.
are they junk tempermental carbs or a good solid performer?
do they perform like the bs34's?
they are clean and i checked all the passeges with compressed air. everything is clean.
i can't read the jet sizes. i have to guess there stock sizes.

looking for some info here guys.
they look decent but we all know looks can be deceiving.

too bad he painted the tops red.

someday i will be able to afford my kz habit.

they are fine carbs work almost the same as mikunis jet's arent compatable but that shouldn't be a real issue anyway.

The last two KZ750 series sold in the US, the Zephyr 750 and recent ZR-7 came with Keihin CVK32 carburators. The ZR-7 even had throttle position sensors on them. I have a '91 Zephyr 750 and have not problems with the Keihins. They are first class.

I have Keihin CV34s on my 750 and I like them. Instant response to twisting the throttle. Others say "get the Mikuni BS34s" but maybe it's just me. I have come to know them and love them. I do need a magnifying glass the read the jet numbers though. Z1E sell replacements for the primary and secondary mains.

Just when you think you have all the passageways clean there are 3 that you may have overlooked. They are the transition holes. When I eventually found them was the point in time at which I went from hating these carbs to loving these carbs. To find the transition holes open the throttle butterfly and look in and look up You will see the hole for the air mixture screw and right behind that are 3 tiny holes in a triangle pattern.... the transition holes. If these are dirty you"ll get a stutter at about 3,000rpm.

The red paint should come off. Definitely not original. $50 was a great price for motor + carbs !!!!
