650 and 750's swap...550 carbs do not...so if you purchased 650 carbs, they will not fit on a 550 motor.

this was the auction as it reads:
This auction is for a COMPLETELY REBUILT set of 24mm Mikuni Carbs for KZ550,KZ650, as well as other models. They are in excellent/rebuilt condition as you can see. Very hard to find them in this great condition. I have around 30 years experience in carb work and have just recently started to offer my work in this venue. I cut NO corners. They don't leave here until they are RIGHT!! There is not a spec of dirt in any passage/jet/slide/ etc/These have been hand/ultrasonically cleaned/new rubber/floats set/pilots set to factory specs...blah,blah,blah....Check out my feedback and bid with confidence...

The seller might be well known but he is wrong. As Mcdroid stated the 650's and 750's share the same carb spacing but the 550's are totally unique. Hopefully the guy will do the right thing and refund your money.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Besides the 550 carbs spacing being closer together, the carbs are shorter from front to rear. Not close to being the same physical size as a 650. Pretty much every auction on ebay for Kawasaki parts lists gazillions of models that used the part. Truth is very few Kawasaki's of different CCs used the same parts.
