How to remove varnish from float bowl gasket

I can't seem to remove the traces of varnish off the float bowl gaskets. Tried wd40 and goo gone. Should I just soak them in gas for a bit?

If they have that much varnish on them that you have to worry about it, you should replace them.

So, I guess the gaskets are hard? You might try soaking them in silicone spray to soften them up. It worked for me so that I could work on the carbs, adjusting stuff n such. After getting them dialed in, I installed new gaskets.

Well if I can save them I'd rather do that instead of paying 17.50 for gaskets. I mean 17.50 for these gaskets seems a bit absurd.

I never noticed the ebay tag, I always use the url tag.
