where do all these hoses go? was created by 55fbomb
i tore the air box off my 78kz650 and put pods on it. can someone tell me where the hoses go that come off of the (i think) 2 and 4 carbs from the carb body, they were not hooked up to anything to begin with. also where are you guys with pods routing that tube the was hooked to the bottom of the air box that comes from the top of the transmission? thanks in advance, tyler.

the tubes on the bottom of each carb are for over flow, let them route down below engine,

vent in crank case attach a long tube and let it vent.

ok, the tubes for the overflow are history, the tubes i mean come out of the body of the carbs, but only on 2 and 4 and they were just layin on top the airbox, they look like vacuum hoses but i cant imagine where they go and cant figure it out, as for the vent info thanks thats all i needed to here. i give you guys a lot of credit because these KZs have been a real bitch so far. thanks again kano, now if i can figure out these two hoses off the carb bodies i will be in good shape.

there should be 4 tubes 1 on the underneath of each carb fuel bowl,
these are just in case the float needles stick and the fuel will vent threw tubes to the ground.

those other two hoses are atmospheric vents and don't hook up to anyhing. I've alwYs run mine without any hoses hooked up to those ports and never had any issues. You prob want to put overflow hoses on the bottom nipples though, if nothing else they'll keep fuel off your feet if your carbs overflow

Vent tubing might help to keep water & debris out of the carbs. The overflow tubing is there to direct fuel away from a hot engine in the event that there's a fuel supply malfunction or if you dump the bike.

the atmosphere vents make sense, i just wasnt sure, thank you. as for the overflow tubes i ripped them off so if one of my floats stick i know which one it is, instead of chasing a maze of tubes around. might put them back on once everything is sorted out but for now messin around in the garage i dont see the need for them, although some good pionts were brought up about why they are there. thanks for all your help, im sure im gonna have lots more questions, LOL.
