KZ650 Head Looking For VM28's was created by Becker
I'm already in full swing on building my KZ650C3 into an 810. My question is How do I tell the difference between VM28's and VM26's on Ebay. Everyone with a set listing on ebay just says that they came off a KZ1000 without listing the size. What are some visible Differences??

Also what do I need to do to the carb holders to make this work?? just buy KZ1000 carb holders and slot them out?? Any help would be appreciated.

If they are 28's (like off a Z1r) they should have an accelerater pump. They have a lever in the middle between the 2 & 3 carb. that work the pump. They will fit the stock 650 intake manifolds, sometimes you need to custum fit them alittle. It is harder, if the rubber is dry and hard on the manifolds.

You can measure the dia. of the carb, where it goes into the intake manifold (should be 28mm)

You can tell the difference between the 26 and the 28 by the amount of "meat" where they bolt to the intake flanges.
Right side top is a 26mm (thicker mounting flanges) and the right side middle is a 28mm (thinner mounting flange)where it would mount to the intake flanges.

The top 2 sets in the center row are 2 of the Z-1 style 28mm carbs used.
