Which Carbs on 76? KZ400D3 was created by Theseus
Here's what I think I know
Titled as 1976
Owners manual for 1976 D3
Frame# K4-507882
Engine # K4E-054171
electric start
So I'm thinkin 1976 KZ400D3 standard
Here's the real problem. Checking for a few replacement parts for the carbs and it seems I am either not reading the parts catalogs correctly or the carbs may have been swapped out on my bike. For reference Bikebandit.com shows carbs for a 74-75 KZ400/K and 76 KZ400-D3 76-77.
The carbs on my bike are most certainly the first set with float valve seat separate from the carb body(I need the o-ring for the valve seat), and the simpler enrichener(sp?) valve. Is this common factory parts sourcing or just a later carb swap?
The engine intake boots are cocooned in silicone. If the factory carbs are not on there would this cause fit issues with the different set of carbs? I will probably replace these boots as well. Im just hoping to avoid trial and error by fishing your collective knowledge.
Also I need to replace the felt bushings on the butterfly shafts and can't locate any.
Any help or advice would be greatly apreciated.
