z650 carbs spitting fuel into pods. was created by Aumriff
Hi all. I'm still having problems with my z650-f2. I'm getting a lot of fuel spitting out of the carbs into the pods and then sprayed through the pods onto the electrics and battery. The floats and fuel level is within +/- 1mm of the manual spec. The main jet is a 107 and 15's for the pilot jet. Air screws are turned out 2.5 turns. I just can't work out why some of the fuel gets blown out into the pods. Any help would really be appreciated as I've had the carbs off atleast 10 times in the last month.
btw, the bike is the uk/european z650-f2 (1981)

Are the float needles seating properly? If they are letting fuel by because they are worn it might cause your issues.

Is the fuel spitting out or are the carbs popping as in maybe a timing issue? First, with your 4-1 and pods I would be running 17.5 pilots and I would think maybe a little more main jet. Check your timing advancer and make sure it's lubed. Check engine timing and make sure your valve adjustment is with in spec. Bad valve adjustment can mimic other problems. Let us know...

Valves not seating? Do they all blow out gas?
