i had the same problem, i know you do not want to hit it with a hammer to try to loosen them, you will crack the intakes all to hell.
btw anyone here can fix a cracked head, not the cylinder part, just the intake?

if you cant fix it with a hammer and duct tape, get a bigger hammer and more duct tape!!

The bolts are corroded into the head. Don't force them or they will snap right off in the head. Be patient with penetrating oil by all means. I was probably one of the first dummies that broke one of these off and it was way back in 1979. One year old intakes were already crap thanks to using pod filters with no support for the carbs and the bolts were frozen in the head like they had been out in the weather for 30 yrs. Be careful.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

I bought some pb blaster and soaked them, i was going to try to heat them up but figured i would wait till tomorrow and try so the pb can do its job. I bought a little mini butane torch to get in where i need to,i hope they come undone. I plan on using straight jawed vise grips.

I put pb blaster on them like 10 times, the mini butane torch i bought wouldn't burn the fuzz of a peach so tomorrow i will get some kroil and soak em till Sunday and hit em with the regular propane torch.

When I removed my carb holder screws in 2005 they had been untouched since 1977 when the bike was built. I soaked them for 2 days and they came out - no heat or anything like that. I just made sure the screwdriver fit the screws well. Just be patient and don't use too much force or you may break them off in the head. If they are still stuck after 2 days soak them for a couple more days and try again. I don't know if Kroil or PB Blaster will burn and make the screws stick worse. Ed
