carbs run out of fuel

I have an 80 kz650 csr. I run a v&h pipe. Have pod filters. I had a stge #3 jet kit put in. The problem happens when I do a hard start or wheelie. The carbs seem to run out of fuel. Another issue is when I run premium fuel it runs like shit. I would like to run drag fuel when I am at the track. I get the best times when I run 87 octain. Any help would be great.

double check your float heights it sounds like they might be off a bit if it's running bad on premium it might be due to high alcohol content in the fuel also if your ignition plate is adjustable give some more advance. if your premium fuel is high in alcohol then you will have to richen up your main jets a few sizes. by the way welcome

buy a pingel fuel valve and install it after you check what tb said.
