Cabs that fit KZ750 was created by rayellis
I was looking at my carbs and started cleaning them. It looks to be a lot of work but I was wondering what other carbs would fit a 1980 KZ750E? I have the stock kehin cv34 on it now.

Thanks

The kz750/4 also came with Mikuni BS34. The 80 had the Keihins and I think perhaps the 83 model had the Mikunis.

Dont let a bit of work scare you off. Usually worth it in the end. :)

Good luck

I would rather keep these and do the work but as I get into it I'm thinking that I might have to buy some replacement parts for these carbs.Who knows how much I might spend fixing these!!!!!!!!

Thanks

anything you end up spending to get those right will be money well spent if you buy a set of used carbs from somewhere how much will you end up spending to get them right also if you buy a set that is from another type of bike how much time and effort and money will it take to get them to work properly if the bike is mostly stock your better off staying with the stock carb's and fixing those if you have done extensive modifications then by all means go after bigger badder carb's

You are right. I don't really want bigger/better carbs I just want good stock carbs.

Here is a question for ya I'm cleaning the bowls of the carb and the copper tube is split down the middle on three of these bowls is this the way they are made? Did they crack from cleaning?

I think those are the overflow tubes and they are brass. They do split sometimes. If the bike was laying up outside for a while moisture in the tubes can freeze and cause the split. Obviously any gas in the bowl will leak right out.

I had a split in one of mine when I got it first. JB Weld can work if you dont have to put a lot on and if you leave it 24 hours to cure. What I did was to bring a bowl to a local hobby store and find and buy a thin brass tube with a diameter such that it would just fit over the tube in the bowl. Then I cut same length, slipped it on and soldered the bottom for a permanent and economical fix. Whatever you do just make sure you dont interfere with the operation of the floats.

Good Luck
