Hi, I want to upgrade my carbs to a set of Mikuni RS34. Do you think they will work well on a stock motor? Going to also buy a kerker 4 to 1 comp baffle. I want to also install a 1075 kit but not for a few years.
Would those carbs be a good choice? It is a street bike.
Thanks

As old Buzz at Dynoman as well as some others here informed me....
RS34, great carbs for RACING..... If you plan on riding at WOT all the time, beautiful carb, otherwise would be a waste...
900-1075cc motor with performance camshafts, head P&P, Kerker w/1.5" comp baffle... Preferably/ideally 29mm, 31mm max for an enjoyable and powerful street ride...
If your looking for more excitement out of your motor... 1075 kit and performance cams with the Kerker will be more than enough.
BTW, what carbs do you presently have installed?

RS are just that. Great carbs for WFO. Hard to use in town and normal street riding, IMO. All depends on your goals.
I have recently gone back to the BS34 from the RS34 to attain a better drivability. Granted your bike may be ok as you have the displacement. But there are other options out there...
Keihin make some nice carbs as well. Note the throttle valve having a different guide than the RS. The RS are always going to clatter at idle. Wonder if the FCR are a bit more tame on the street? Or if they are even available any longer for the KZ/ZR horizontal configuration these days.
Until (if ever) I upgrade to an 810 and bigger cams there was really no need for them on the 750. My ability to lean out the motor with to much throttle opening was a problem mid turn. Steady and easy wrist would pay back in spades though. Motor would go through the rev range in a hurry.
As always there are many options. Including rejeting the stock carbs.

yes buda they look like those you uploaded. I just want to get better throttle response, better carbs seems like a good place to start.

The BS should do you justice. Make sure they are working correct though. I cheated and sent mine to WG. Now it's on me for tuning and it's getting there... Many years ago made the mistake of allowing a dynajet stage 2 kit go in. Fighting this kit a bit it seems. Much more comfortable a street setup than the RS. RS just wanted to GO GO GO all the time. Survey is out still but I think the bike is getting better fuel mileage with the BS as well.
There are some limited parts available for BS. Diaphragms can cost $400 to replace all with clean OEM parts. If you can find them.
If course all depends on the condition of yours how much restoration cost would be.
The full on restoration price range would take me looking elsewhere also.
Good luck in the quest.

As far as the diaphrams go iv bought a couple of sets of bs34s from ebay (less than $100 each) and have extra sets of diaphrams as well as spare parts.
Your bs 34s can give you what your looking for with a little work. Mine run great now but it took a little doing.

Thanks guys, the bike runs great. Carbs are very clean. I just thought I could get a better set. I was looking for the wow factor as well. Just wanted some new high end parts on the bike.

Manual flat-slides like RS34´s are better in way of throttle response and raw power. So it depends on what you´re looking for. Commuting and cruising go with BS34, riding twisties and maybe occasionally on track then definately RS34´s.
I´d never go back to CV -type carbs! I just love the raw response and power of my TM33´s
