Is there a replacement carb that works better then the one I have since I am spending the money anyways? Where can I find it or the original (ebay is no go)? Anyone ever do FI on this bike?
Thanks a lot!
BTW: If anyone has a electro ign, carbs, jet kit, stator, or a wire harness for sale let me know!

I am having a hard time finding a set of carbs for a 82 kz 550 LTD. I recently tore them apart and it looks like they all have cracks in the bottom of the carb. I am also going to be going with pods and my mac 4-1, so I will be upgrading jets.

Why are you replacing the carbs? Cracks on the carbs are unlikely. Are you sure it's not casting flash? Most carbs have this flash.

The cracks are in the float bowl (fuel bowl), they are actually leaking fuel so I assume they are cracks. I JB welded them and put them back together and are back on the bike... but I am just waiting for them to break and need a backup incase.
Weird to have cracks.
Found a set on the first ebay search I did.

Do you guys recommend TK or Miki carbs, say I went to the junkyard and found both?
Also where would I buy carb rebuild kits with bigger jets already in them since I would be doing pods, or do I have to buy the carb rebuild kits for 100, then the stage 3 for another 100?

There are many posts about the TK22 carbs.
Here are some recent ones.

Rebuild kit is K&L 18-2462. It only comes with stock jets, but can be drilled. It also comes with adjustable needles.
For bigger jets and different taper needles, you can get the Dynojet kit #2305.
The TK-22's are pretty robust. I've never seen them crack by themselves. Usually they have to hit the ground for that to happen.
