Can you take a picture? Some carb hoses are supply lines, others are float bowl vents, and some act as pressure vents when the fuel comes from the tank.
If you tank has a vacuum petcock(fuel valve) it needs a line from at least one carb to let fuel flow through a diaphram.

I suspect this refers to the hoses attached to bottoms of float bowls which are the overflow drains.
These hoses are usually routed past the swingarm to exit underneath the bike.
The ends may be clipped off to open them back up.
Important for them to be clear so that the carb overflow circuit may properly function.
Good Luck!

This particular example has four manual slide carbs. Other type carbs are CV or vacuum operated carbs, identifiable by the large round tops on each carb.
This example has a separate nipple for a hose to a vacuum operated petcock, and also has an accelerator pump.
Some carbs have one or the other or neither.
Also, this example has a single fuel line, whereas some carbs have dual fuel lines.
Good Luck!
