 I believe on the KAW's #2 is supposed to be treated as the MASTER carb. It is the one that the Idle speed adjustment screw is on, the others are linkage adjustments to this carb. Always make sure your basics are good before messing around trying to sync. Inspect/ clean your carb's, check for vacuum leaks- way to common on old bikes/ good even compression-needed for vacuum signal/ good ignition system-points and condenser on the oldies.
Then you won't be back in there again and again.

Pretty sure that varies from bike to bike. The VM26 carbs I have that came on the Kz900 and Kz1000's have individual adjustments for everything but the cable linkage (slide height and pilot circuit air screw).

Check where the Idle adjustment screw is for the butterflies,
I think you'll find it on #2. But really the main thing is to make sure there are no underlying problems, then adjust to the same vacuum signal in each carb. You will spend less time doing it if you start with the carb that has the Idle speed screw #2.
Now if you have the round slide VM carb's that use the slide as the throttle valve with individual speed screw adjustments for the height of the slides, then you will find he is right no real master carb. Many machines have different linkages or cables hooking multiple carb's together.

Butterfly valves are only on the CV type carbs. Many bikes have slide types which don't have a master adjustment on carb #2.

Ok its time for the chemistry and science gurus to figure out the four bottle system. Maybe if the two inner bottles had three holes drilled they could all be linked together. Does it sound feasable?

I found this one online - the only thing I think we'd need to figure out would be the valve to prevent the fluid from being sucked into the carb manifolds.

Good find! I'm going to try and make one of these soon. If I get it working, I'll post my results.
