Pretty glad i found this site, its great...but here's my problem
I just purchased a 1980 ltd 1000 in great condition but it had been sitting for two years, so i knew i would have to rebuild the carbs, which are Mukini and the airbox is gone. The bike runs great once its warm and starts fine, the problem is that it misses or sucks air when its around 3,000 rpms, I have not had the carbs synced , i know i need to do that but could that be responsible for the missing? if not what is the first solution i should attempt?
thanks

I would imagine with the airbox gone the carbs are lean. You need to pull the carbs and find out the size of the jets. They probably could use a good cleaning any way.
Welcome,lots of help here. Roy
P.S. Put your bike in the signiture section of your profile and we know what bike you have without having to ask.
