I installed 26mm carbs and 29mm carbs on mine and it ran like a champ. After about six months i installed a regular head.

You can seperate the F.I. computer wiring from the rest of the wiring without butchering the wires. If i remember correctly the computer wiring is seperate form the regular wiring but is taped together as one. Roy

As far as performance i would say 4 into 1 hgeader and jet the carbs for them.

I think i expoxied shinny quarters in the injector holes.
Probably a better way but not a cheaper way.

Those exhaust are worth quite a bit of money if they are as good as they look. Roy

everything on the bike is perfect except a spot on the tank above the petcock.the last owner tryed to mess with it and put gas in the rusty tank and didnt tighten the bolt enough the gas peeled the paint.other than that its almost new.only 6500 miles......if i buy carbs set up for the header will it still run good with the stock exhaust?until i can afford the new pipes?\

I would just look up the stock jetting for a "80" model engine that is carburated and go a little bigger on the jets. The carbs for those years were lean.

You do relize that is a MarkII engine and in my personal opinion the best engine installed on a Kawasaki.

You will need the carb boots as the injector boots do not have the vacum fittings.

Wired george didn't like how i enlarged my injector boots until i found new ones. I heated a piece of pipe red hot and inserted it into the boots to enlarge. George just shook his head.
