First of all, install a set of cams that are at least .340 lift. This will start approaching the vacuum range you will need. Than the carbs will have to be modified to accept the pod filter hi back pressure (lo restriction). You must realize that these carbs were matched to engines that have a minimum of that much cam lift and still use air boxes with restrictive paper element air filters.

well the plan is to go to 1075 and the right matching cams, preferably this winter, that should cure the problem. The bike does still move pretty good I'm just finding its mostly in the higher rpm range. So how do these smaller 750's- 810's get away with it they must have a similar problem.
cheers

Realize that a GPz750 that used same carbs had as much HP as the earlier 1000. They also ran the airbox which provided the right amount of air flow restriction threw the carburetors. They also had a much higher lift cam to provide more vacuum. The slides on the 750 carbs were also a bit different. This is also a reason why Kawasaki put 32mm Kaihin carbs on most 750s or double butterfly carbs on the Mikunis. They had these same problems right from the get-go.
