Start by listing the year and model of the bike, and the type of carburetor.

If you have the factory manual it is explanied in the manual.
If you have the Clymer or Haynes manuals - Get the Kawasaki Service Manual. It will be the best tool you could ever buy for your bike.

Am wondering if might be prematurely addressing the carbs.

Have sparkplug readings been done to support need for possible re-jetting or adjustments to floatbowl fuel levels?

Is airfilter clean?

Has a compression test been performed, and valve clearances assured to specs?

And with a brand new plug, has spark quality been visibily observed and found to have a fat blue spark?

Has ignition timing been assured to specs?

And using a strobe type timing light, has operation of advancer been assured by watching it quickly move back and forth as rpm's are varied by blipping the throttle?

All of these non-carb components should imo be assured (compression, valve clearances, spark quality, timing, advancer function, floatbowl fuel level, and clean air filter) along with an ample clean supply of fuel to carbs, and sparkplug readings, BEFORE addressing the carbs.

Why? Because even perfect carbs cannot compensate for deficiencies in the other components. And it's usually a futile exercise when proceedng otherwise. Think "crapshoot."

Good Luck! :)

ok my pilot screw is blocked off....how do i access it. My timing and spark were great before i had cut my pipes, and i just bought pod filters for the bike...so that is why i been trying to work on the carbs...because nothing has changed, she was running like a champ before i made cut my pipes, and added on headers.
