float valve assemblies will need to be replaced or at least polished. i would go with replacement as the polishing is only a temporary fix if it works at all.

First off where are they leaking from? The float bowl seal, overflow tube transfer tubes, etc.

If you have a few bucks laying around (don't we all? ) order up a set of carb kits. This should fix three possible leak sources. Do one carb at a time with a thourogh cleaning (all passages) and new gaskets and float assemblies. Depending on the kits, do not use their metering rods, reuse your old ones. Set your float level (wet method) and she should be fine. :)

I think they are leaking from the seal and also somewhere from the bottom of the float bowl

Here is what you need from Z1 Enterprises (Remember, you need four) This is THE place for most everything you need for your bike.

Sorry to jump in on your thread, but I'm having the same problem with a 80 KZ750, except they were not leaking at all until I cleaned the carbs (for the second time).

The first time I cleaned them I forgot to do anything with the air adjustment screw, so I don't know if that could have something to do with it. I tried tapping lightly on the float bowl, but I'm also having some other problems with the bike, so the leaking bowls wasn't a focus of my concerns. Maybe just try tapping them harder?

Ive fixed transfer tubes by splitting the carbs and wrapping them with teflon tape and pushing them back in and putting the carb rack back together
