Just me being curious, but how much would you pay for a good set of used/rebuilt carbs for an early 80's model 4 cylinder?

That is a very vague question. Depending on the carburetor set, it could be between $100 to $600. Not all carburetors are created equal. :woohoo:

well I bit the bullet and bought what I was looking for, a rebuilt set of keihin cv34's for my 81 kz750. $212.99 USD including shipping.

I ended up breaking the float pin holder on one of my originals so a replacement was definately necessary.

Link to the auction with pics below. Did I get a good deal?

Telefunkin, In the day, new carbs went for @ $100.00 per body. or $400.00 a rack. trick shit $600.00. wrecker carbs in common sizes go for @ $120.00 per rack, tho buyer beware. even without PO diddling, age and setting take their toll. at a guess, 90% of current "get running" probs are carb related. early VM's were probly the simplest of "modern motorcycle" carbs and still baffle most. luck g

here, here you have just said a mouthful nobody ever want's to admit something is wrong with their carbs it always seems to me that people try blaming their woes on every other thing but. 90% percent of the issues with these awesome bikes are carb related spend a few bucks more and do what OMR did and spring for a brand new set of either keihan cr's or a set of mikuni flatslides they are quite reasonable and they are brand new carb's which should last for another thirty years. that is my rant and if you don't believe me ask Larry cavanagh he will say the same thing i'm sure he does know what he is talking about.
