bst33ss katana carbs? was created by toad
I just acquired a set off 1997 bst33ss katana carbs from a friend and I am wondering if anyone knows if I can fit these carbs up properly on my kz900 or would I be wasting my time, or would these be a great improvement from my 26,s
the throttle mechanism is different, they are a flatside carb as well, any insight would be great.

One immediate consideration is whether the Katana carbs are designed to mount horizontally (level) as required for KZ900 fitment, regardless of whether the throat center spacings match the carb holders.
Some later model designs have carbs tilted up in the rear and pointed (angled) down toward the engine (more down draft style), which carbs I'm doubtful of feasibly adapting to the KZ900.
Good Luck!

This is from my research here and in the archives:
If the 97's where still the oil cooled models, then yes.
You would need J model intake boots. Also, I think they have a handlebar choke via cable, so you will need to find a way to get the choke working for you.
Not sure about the throttle setup and such, as I haven't gotten my hands on a set yet. Been trying to find some at the right price.
