A couple of carb ?'s was created by sbulla
I just acquired some J8-5DL31jet needles that I was told would work with my VM28SS (with accel pump) carbs.

Need a second opinion from you guys to confirm this. Will the stock needle jet work with them?

Also, I'll be changing from the stock airbox (with K&N element) to K&N pods and running a Kerker 4-1 exhaust with a packed (long) baffle. Anyone know the sweet jetting combination for this set up for a stock engine?

depending on your local elevation try 17.5 or 20 pilots and the needle in the third position and 115 0r 117.5 main jets. i pay no attention to the needle numbering system that mikuni has so those numbers don't mean much to me but unless there is a marked difference between your stock needles and the ones that you just got i would stick with the stockers and experiment with needle height's you can usally get very close with the stock stuff.

Thanks for the reply. Elevation is 1000' here and, the reason for the new needles is that, the last time I had the carbs apart, I noticed a couple of 'em had pitting down near the tip and weren't exactly smooth.
