33 smoothbores on a 1261 Jetting question was created by Knight Rider
33vm's on a 1261 with 435 cams and a ported head.

what main jets do i run
and do i still go with the smaller air jets.5-.6 or do i bump up to the stock 1.0 air jets
#20 pilot jets are what i have in it now

what is your elevation and what do you have for mains right now and is this a street motor or a race motor. what kind of compression are you using and if it is a race engine what type of fuel are you using.

17 to 20 pilots, 135 mains
76 KZ, frame gusset work,1200CC.Ported by Larry Cavanaugh, 1.5mm.over intakes, Carron Pipe, ZRX12 rear end, and seat,96zx9 front end.

214 feet above, mostly street, but it will see the quarter mile a time or two. 10.25 to 1 comp. and will be running 110 octane.jets are 125.

I heard the secret is to throw your pistons on the concrete floor before installing them. it helps!

What compression ratio are u running?
(Before the pistons hit the floor.)

is that 110 octane that e-85 crap don't use it with these carb's the alcohol will give you nothing but trouble with 10.25-1 compression straight premium would be your best bet and it will work well with your compression.

True story about pistons hitting the floor, friend was checking out my black Gun Coat job on my block, lifted it up to eye level to get a better look then proceeded to tip block upside down, pistons were just sitting on top up to their oil rings, I watched in horror as my new weisco 1261s tumbled to the cold concrete floor below. The good news is one stayed in the block. the bad news is now my pistons are as ugly as the school teacher:laugh: ;) :silly:ps. pistons were 10.25 to 1

140 mains in vm33's were rich in mt 1135cc 10.25:1, with .424 lift cams ,full port and 35.7mm intakes.132's were good. 135 to 140's may be close for u.
