uh oh was created by Bicycle Lee
ok, so I boiled my float bowls in lemon juice... it actually worked great at removing grime and rust and those pesky gaskets that just didn't want to let go.
Now here comes the "uh oh"
so when I pulled one of the bowls out, I noticed a small brass pin had fallen out...
I realized it was from the front of the bowl, held in by a little spring clamp thing with what looks like a ball bearing underneath.
I've been looking over the parts diagrams on Kawasaki's site, but can't quite figure out what the thing is. Pilot screw?
I lost the little spring thing that held it in as well as the bearing. Uh.... how important ARE those???

Look in the accelerator pump diagram. A K&L rebuild kit usually has the little parts.

There should be a set of these parts in each carb as part of your pump circuit. None of these parts are in the K&L kit, sorry. When rebuilding my carbs I had one of the "jesus" clips fly away. I swept my bay (I'm a mechanic) and actually got it back. I think the only way to replace these is to ebay a spare set of carbs. :S

Accoding to Kawasaki.com all 4 parts there can be purchased through any Kawasaki dealer. There's the ball, weight, clip and oring. All 4 run about $17 through bikebandit. All the pump carbs used in 1979-80 used these same parts. If you don't need all 4 just get the clip and oring for $10 or so.

I figure that I'll just replace all of those parts. They are 30 years old after all... I found a set on ebay for like 23 bucks, so whatever
