Carb Vents? was created by violentvintagecycles
Hey guys, me again, quick question.. 1982 kz550a3 tk carbs.. I was pretty sure i got the info from here to run the carb vents into each other, not into open air. Ive been watching another post by another kz550 guy and the advice everyones giving him is to run those vents to open air. So, uh, i got it wrong? Can this do damage if its run this way? (cause i did)

The vents should be open to atmosphere.
The tubing on my 81 650 is routed over the airbox shoulders & fitted snugly between the airbox & side covers. The tubing points down to help keep water out.

The vent tubes may also be routed to exit underneath the seat. Or down around the swing arm (alongside the floatbowl overflow drain tubes) to exit underneath the bike.
Good Luck!
