I have a 1976 KZ900-A4. Which has the manual petcock. Taking this girl to Bonneville salt for the BUB's event in Oct and getting bike to meet specs.
The fuel system requirement is presenting a problem. Here is how the reg reads.
"Fuel class motorcycles must have a positive fuel shut off activated without riders hand leaving the handlebars"
I cannot locate any type of beast.... Does anybody have any disconnect input / idea's.
I also have to have a lanyard kill, so a fuel pump tied to that system might work but don't want to go that direction if I don't have to.

Sounds like a vacuum petcock would do the trick.
When the engine shuts off, no vacuumm. No vacuum = no fuel flow.
There is probably a factory vacuum petcock you can adapt from another KZ...it may just be a bolt in swap.

excellent idea. Had a reply on other forum and I might be able to avoid based on gas class of bike.
But if not, I will confirm with BUB's vacuum passes and will apply.
Thanks

what class are you going to run it in i'm looking at getting a couple of bikes together for bonnieville as well i'm trying to find a set of under a thousand pistons and i'm looking at going to a 1327 bloc as well to fit in the under 1350 class as well a buddy of mine and me are putting together the secret weapon so that we will walk away with at least one record, one bike for the record and the other one with engine sawps for the ego and timeslips.

Running in the gasser BUB's Run Watchya Brung class. As this is my first time out and want to get a (low pucker factor) introduction to Bonneville.
Not gunning for any records other then my personal best and a "Bucket List" kinda thing. Have always wanted to get on the salt with some old muscle (car/bike) so digging the adventure in front of me with my 76 KZ900-A4
