could you take the complete fuel injection system off a modern street bike and put it on a kz? (in this case a 900 bored to 1200 with a gpz head and cams)
I know the spacing would be off, but i can make that work. what would i need to look out for? what cc bike would i take it off of? because the newer bikes rev higher/breath better etc.
any way this is something that have most the parts(not fuel system tho) for just need the time to put it together so i'm looking for suggestions and ideas brainstorm away guys!

thanks

I saw a blown Lexus where the extra fuel was injected just after the supercharger. It seemed to work okay but you were never sure if you were going to explode.

Maybe something like that? Injectors are expensive though.

On the FI 81 and 82 GPZ 1100's a fuel pump pressurized the injectors to 33-35 PSI with low amp draw. I think the MSD #2225 fuel pump might work if you can't get a Kawasaki pump.

The GPZ's had several sensors(on my 82 there is a throttle position sensor at the end of the throttle shaft,an engine temp sensor screwed into the engine block under the #1 throttle body, and an air temp sensor in the air filter housing area).

I'd say your biggest problem is going to be on the timing side. Specifically, getting the proper signal to both your fuel system and your ignition system. Probably the only way to do it will be to switch to the ignition system off whatever bike you're getting the parts off of, since you're going to have to mount up the crank trigger and pickup off of the new bike. I'd say use the system from a 900 or 1000cc, since you're at 1200. Only other problem I see is with the advance, if theres a mechanical advance ont eh new bike it mgiht be hard to adapt it to your bike. But if it has an electronic advance, you can just pull everything off your bike and make an adapter to mount up the crank trigger.

With regards to sensors, you'll have to mount up a TPS, MAP, air temp, and oxygen I'd imagine, whatever is on the donor bike.

didn't think of the ignition portion. thanks. I have a g1 and could do the gpz thing but was wanting to go more modern just for the challenge of it(Plus if i get it to work I could share with others) and the greater access to parts

Do i pick by mm dia? cuz 600cc bikes seem to be at38mm and bigger bikes seem to be 42-46 range?

Yeah maybe some 600 dual stage carbs would be good, such as:

They have showerhead injectors that spray into the throat at high rpm. These are from a CBR600RR.

You might think about the mini squirt injectors. Ask Larry, he has them for his bike. They are a high end performance product.
