no air filter means you suck all sorts of crap into the engine and that will scuff the cylinder walls and rapid ring wear can and will result.

73-early 74s with bungs on bottom worth more then late 74-75 carbs. Depends on condition, are slides free, do fuel inlets leak ? Id say approx $125 to 150 for a set needng work. Now that private sellers are locked out of Ebay due to having to take all kinds of payments, they will be harder to find and more expensive. I had a early set listed on here in classifieds for $150 and didnt get a hit so I put them on one of my bikes so what do I know.

it seems they "should " be worth somthing more than the cost a good tire goes for...i guess some folks really are pro sellers and that would make them a market item for them for sure....
but as was mentioned before..... i listed a bunch of stuff in the classifieds here and got no responses.... and i thought i priced em for a decent/to low asking price.....the velocity stacks seem to fetch some bucks by themselves....maybe a good cleaning and polish and stacks installed.....and great photo would show em off a bit......ive seen guys do that on e-bay and they go a bit higher....but on there you see stuff going way hi...and do a search and similiar to same items getting no bids.....go figure....i been just giving stuff to folks and hoping they use it ......good luck on em.....craig

I gave up, I listed them on Craigslist and some guy {seriously} wanted to send me a check for $2300, take $150 for the carbs and $100 for my trouble and send him the remaining $2050 by Western Union and he would have a guy pick them up. By his wording he was definetly in a foreign country. Wanted to be sure he could trust me for him to send the check by overnight UPS. I told him to send it to me c/o Billings FBI Office attn internet fraud dept. Next day I got an email from a guy offering to perform oral sex on me. You cant make this stuff up. I pulled the ad and am done with Craigslist, its a very strange place, but it is free !

I have a collection of those scam checks. It costs them about 35 dollars to overnight fedex a check to you. So I figure I can scam them a little in return. It works so far, everytime I list something on craigs I get one. My collection is growing...

I wish I had thought of that but I was so darn mad that someone would think I was that stupid. I really didnt want to have any more to do with then either. The ironic part is I called the FBI and was told being as I didnt fall for the scam there was nothing they could do even though I gave them all the info with the email adrres and all. Your tax dollars at work.....or not !!!!!
