I've just put my carbs which previously did not leak back on my bike and now when I start it up there is a stream of fuel coming out of a brass nipple right behind the choke lever.

I don't see the nipple on any of the diagrams I have som I'm not even sure what it is. The nipple is approximately where this arrow is pointing;

Suggestions? JB weld? Gasoline and a match?

it is the float bowl vent and if it is leaking fuel it most likely means that you have a problem with the needles and seats[float valves] you will have to remove the carbs and look for either gunk in the bowls or grooving on the needles they might have to be replaced,

Probably a carb overflow vent. Try tapping on the carb float bowl to jar the sticky float. If this won't work,turn off the gas, drop the float bowl(s) and look for crud in the needle valve that controls the gas to the float bowls.

To clean it,remove the float, and with a cotton Q-tip and some metal polish carefully clean the seat and inspect the needle valve for deposits.Re-assemble the floats and try again.

Check the oil in the crankcase for gasoline buildup before starting as this can be a cause of HYDOLOCK if the oil/gas mixture in the crankcase is really high. HYDROLOCK can bend connecting rods if your not careful.

This happened to me recently on my KZ550. Was about 2 miles from home and gas was pouring down onto the exhaust - nice. It has the TK carbs with floats which also move a pin up which seats in the hole regulating flow to the bowl. I took the carbs off to get the best look and there was some crud coming down near one of the pins. While everything was down, I took the liberty of taking my compressor and blowing anything else out which might be up in there. Put everything back together, rechecked float height and everything is good now.

You could also have a crack in the brass tube which could cause the leak. There are some good posts on here which explain some good remedies.

Good luck.
