LOTTSA QUESTIONS

i just bought a set of 34 mm carbs off ebay from
old skool carbs....i dont know if they are bs34 or flatslides....they fit a gs1100, but i have been told they are a bolt-on.....what cables and boots to engine should i run with these?.....thanks in advance..

You will need some bigger boots for sure. i got my boots from fast frank.

Probably the 81 cop bikes with the 34 carbs share the same boot. (i'm asleep.) roy

I installed the 34 Mikunis tonight. The O.D. of the front of the carb was 40mm. The boots measured 38mm.

As i said earlier a cop bike probably would work.

I can't remember Fast Franks site. (should have googled it)

Any way it is powerhouse performance i think. He is located on long Island.He had a lot of these boots when i got mine. I think he charged around $60.00. Roy

Oh yeah. the carbs idled great. Should be a big boost for the engine.

the manifolds that your looking for are from the 1000j 1981 and up sorry that i forgot to tell you which ones to use.

Timebomb,Have you ever run these carbs? My mains were 127.5(i think) Idle ? (i forgot) Maybe 133.5? .I know they were the same jet that was in another set i had with headers and pods. Sound about right?

i bought new boots for my 81 1000j from rob at z1-e they were here before i hung the phone up...genuine kawi...

roy sorry to say i have not ever run the bs34's on any of my bikes i have a 100j but i havent riden that bike more than a mile in total but i do have a factory 1000j manual so let me see if ican find the specs for a stock engine then we should be able to get close for your combo.

Thanks. I haven't rode the bike yet but i think i will be close. The carbs were gone through a couple of years ago and new jets were installed. I think i might have got them from George when i was on a visit. Roy

anybody got a link to specs for bs34 mikunis?....i run a search and all i get is old forum threads on google...stock jet sizes, they need vac petcock?...just info like that....thanks
