List of carbs and bikes

I am trying to find out which models of KZ/Z/GPZ have which carbs. Mainly I am trying to find some BS3's as I understand they work better than the VM series carbs. What I can't seem to find is any kind of a list for carbs and bikes for what years.

Also, a comparison of BS and CV carbs would be nice, if there is any difference between them.

Any ideas on where to find this information? I think it may be a good subject for a sticky as this is one of the simple upgrades for those looking to improve their bikes performance.

To find out what model has what part:

Go to babbittsonline.com and go to the OEM section. Search the year and model and you can find the Kawi part number of the carbs. Having that, you can do a search by part number and it will list every year and model that used that part.

Does it tell what kind of carbs they are though? Thats what I am wondering. I am trying to do a carb swap and am having trouble knowing which bikes are good for which carbs.

............Or you could go up to the KZ Information tab above, click on Model History and select a model. The carb types used are listed for each model.

I dont have a shortcut and can only suggest you go through them one model at a time

I've checked KZ's, but their carbs go high on ebay. I found a GS forum that listed all of the carbs for the GS models and found some BS34's from an early 80's gs1000. Now for them to show up, get cleaned and installed.

I'd like to see how they compare to the vm24's I have on right now.

29 smoothbores are one of the best all round carbs that you can buy i'll never part with mine and i've had them almost 20 years and they were old when i got them they have been on just about every bike i own at one time or another.
