Stupid fuel petcock question... was created by BradP77
The manual fuel petcock on my 77 KZ1000-B1 has 2 fuel outlets (one goes down and one goes back), as the original VM26 carbs had two fuel inlets. I am putting 29 smoothbores on my bike, and they have only one fuel inlet. Which fuel outlet do I use, and do I cap the other one off? Or do I need to use a T and use both outlets?

should work either way depending on your riding habits, just remember those ltd tanks dont hold much fuel!

As plummen says, should work either way. Both petcock nipples function the same. Use either nipple and cap off the other nipple. A standard vacuum nipple cap works just fine.
The pic below is from a petcock with both nipples toward the inside. On the LTD style petcock with one nipple pointing down, would select either nipple that best routes the fuel line.
Good Luck!

you might get better flow to the bowls if you use a tee and feed both sides of the carbs at the same time

I just went through this on my bike. First thing I would do is remove the stock petcock and replace it with a pingle. I just couldn't get enough gas to my 29s. The difference was unreal...Russ
