750 carbs to my 650 was created by dastardize
i was wondering if i could use the stock kz750 carbs from an 80 and put them on my 79 kz650. the 750 carbs are jetted with 62's and 137.5's. the 650 will have pods and a kerker. will this be too much flow for the engine or should it be alright? I already got it to fire but i noticed some gas came out of the left most exhaust port but i'm not sure if it's because of the carbs or because i gave it too much gas. thanks for the help

sounds like it has some crud in that float valve assembly and the float is not closing proerly make sure you turn the gas off every time you shut it down or it could fill up the bottom end withgas. as far as the jetting goes i cant really help you you will most likely have to experiment a bit.

If it's leaking from the overflow hose see timebomb's float valve advice above. If it's leaking from the drain screw you need a new o-ring. If it's leaking around the joint between the carb bowl and carb body you need a new gasket. These are all EASY to repair. Otherwise, make sure it's not leaking up higher and just running down the outside of the carb to the bottom. That could be the connector between #1 (left carb) and the #2 carb (this would not be good.) Ed
