KZ1000- Injection to carbs !- won't start (HELP !)

HELP !- I have a 1980 Z1000H and have converted it to 26mm Nikuni carbs - (due to probs with the injection system). It's a standard Z1000 , 1015cc with a Harris 4:1 exhaust - I've fitted pods to the carbs and I'm wondering whether the mixture will need richening up ?
I can't get it started - (I've got sparks etc)., Can you tell me what jets I should have fitted to give me the best chance of it running smoothly ?:(

First things: have you dropped the float bowls and checked for fuel flow? Does your tank have a vacuum petcock(fuel control valve) and is it connected to a good vacuum source?

If compression is good along with spark, I'd say lack of fuel is probably the problem now. Solve this and then start with the swapping of jets, and needle positions.

jets that aren't plugged would be a good start try using 112 mains and set the needles third clip down. keep the same pilots start from there just make sure the pilot circuits are clean.

I've only had one of the bowls open as yet - it was fine for fuel. Next job I'll do is to remove all the 4 bowls and check for fuel. My fuel tank only seems to have the on/off/reserve tap. This is the standard one for the fuel injection system. I was expecting that it would be okay for use for gravity feeding carbs ? Do you think this is the case ?

When I've confirmed that the 4 bowls are fine for fuel, I'll take out the jets , amke sure they're clean and check their size- I don't know what size of mains are in them at the moment.

pull the carbs off right now and save your self a bunch of greif clean them proporly and it should fire right up when you have got it right.the pilots are plugged.trust me if you have spark and air you must be lacking fuel right fix that and every thing will come together.

Just as an afterthought- I also haven't got any of the air vent pipes connected up to the carbs - ie. the only pipe I have connected up is the main fuel supply pipe- all others are left un-connected. Is this correct ,or should I have 'blanked-off' any pipe on the carbs ? (I haven't got a vacuum petcock).
