Acc. pumps vs. non Acc pump Carbs

Is there any advantage to having the carbs with the accelerator pumps? Or are the others just as good? Im talking vm 26s for a 77 ltd 1000.

Throttle response is quicker with acc. pumps.Kawasaki started using them when they started jetting the bikes real lean to pass emmisions standards.this caused a bad hesitation so they used the pumps to correct it.
