I don't think i'm gonna try it

i'm gonna chop one of my broken pc's up an try and make an adapter plate out of it (nuttin'to loose if they're both broken anyway !!)

Right !!
I cut the top off an old petcock to make an adapter (i'm a tight ass, I know !!!)
i'm going to be putting a 3/8 petcock onto the tank
SO does anyone know what size hole i need to be drilling, this metal is real soft so i'm guessing/hoping it will be pretty easy to thread too.
Also the original hole is going to be wider at each side, will jb weld hold up ok ??

OR

should i just give up and buy an adapter plate !!
