Hey all,

Ok, have to ask the stupidest question ever but the provided parts break down diagram doesn't state the fuel line connections.

As depicted in the title of this posting, I have the 29mm CR Specials.

As depicted in the image RED boxes left to right.

Do I connect the tank fuel line to the middle #2 and leave #1 & #3 capped off?

Or do I run a hose between #1 & #3 (remove caps) and connect the tank fuel line to the middle #2?

Or is the capped #1 & #3 my actual fuel line inputs and #2 is a over fill tube?

Any help from other CR Special owners is appreciated...

On a different note, these are going on my KZ 900 (1015cc)
with a Kerker w/1.5" competition baffle...

If known, what size jets (if even required) did you end up with?

Thanks,

Will lob a guess pending arrival of better advice.

Would run fuel into middle (uncapped) tee, with drain nuts loosened, to determine whether fuel enters all four float bowls. Am guessing all four bowls will fill.

Am further guessing the two capped tees are fitted in lieu of straight (non-tee) fuel pipes between carbs 1/2 and 3/4.

Good Luck! :)

More guessing --

Petcock with single fuel outlet would route single fuel line to middle tee on carbs.

Petcock with dual fuel outlets would route dual fuel lines to the two outside carb tees with cap on the middle tee.

Good Luck! :)

you could do it either way it just depends on the fuel requirements of the motor the bigger the engine the more fuel it will need.

Hey TB....
So, connect the tank fuel line to the middle #2 and leave #1 & #3 capped off is good to go then?

I like this, nice clean installation... In my little 1015cc with mild street cams this shouldn;t be a problem then....

CORRECT?

The accountants probably told them to quit buying the straight through pieces and use only tees everywhere. Saves a few pennies on each set by lowering inventory costs.....
and no chance of using the wrong fitting in the wrong place.
They DO have to use extra parts/labour for the caps and clips on the two outer tees....but I'm sure the accountants have it all figured out to the 1/100th of a yen.....

Yea OMR you can run one line to the centre tee, or do like i did and cap the center one and run a line to the outside two tees. Either way will work okay I'm sure

Interesting that the Mikuni 29 smoothbores use a single tee fuel inlet, whereas many smaller carbs such as Mikuni 26mm use dual inlets. With oem dual outlet petcock and single inlet carbs (such as Z1 fitted with smoothbores), may use one petcock outlet and cap off the other petcock outlet (a common vacuum nipple cap works well for this purpose).

Mikuni 29mm smoothbores are feeding some pretty big motors with just the single fuel inlet.

Imo it would take a gargantuan sized motor to require more raw fuel than is available through a single fuel line. Consider, draining a full 3-4 gallon tank through one nipple on the petcock takes maybe a minute, more or less, which would compute to about . . . [very low mpg], even at Bonneville Salt Flats speeds.

Good Luck! :)

Thanks all... I like the one line feed (w/in line filter), clean layout.

What about the jetting with a Kerker?
Sudco, Dynoman and the Keihin website all state the same, pre-jetted, should be install and go but for all pipes on the market seems a broad statement...

Ah well, no matter for I do have the +/- jets after starting her up and running, will adjust as required...

Thanks again guys....
