Z1Enterprises.com carries an excellent selection of Mikuni main jets. Why not give them a call and tell them what you want. Remember to scold them for not making them easy to find on their site! Either Jeff or Rob MUST be aware that their jet selection is kind of hard to find since I am sure they have been told but go ahead and tell them again...

I called Z1 and talked to Rod. He was very helpful. after I with with Rob I pulled the cars and the jet now I need help. The bike has air pods and drag pipes. The main jet is marked 75 and the air jet is marked 15. What jets do you guys think I need to start with? Other than these 2 jets is there anything else I will need to get the carbs right?
Thanks

I suggest you go to your profile and edit your signature to include your bike year/model and your location. Without knowing what carburetors on what bike there is no guessing how to jet the thing. The 75 is particularly interesting as NO KZ I know of uses a 75 jet of any sort. You might want to give that number a gander again to confirm.

wiredgeorge I take it that you are the carb guru. Thanks for being willing to help a stranger. I hope I will be able to repay you one of these days.
This is the bike. It is a 1978 kz650b. As you can see the picture was taken about a week ago. I just built it and took it down the road for the first time today. The bike starts fast and idles fair. When you are in neutral it revs pretty good. Going down the run if you get on the gas too hard it starts popping. It runs a little better with the choke about 2/3 on. I am looking at the jets the main jet has stamped on it one side of the slot has an R and a little square on it. The other side of the slot has 75. This jet is # 30 on page 138 of my Clymer book #m358. The pilot jet #44 on the same page of same book has #15 on it.
I live in south east Georgia. I was about 75-77 degrees on the test ride. The bike ran well before the tear down last month. I know the exhaust and pods and myself are to blame for the way she is running now.

The Clymer references won't be much help to someone who doesn't have a copy of the picture. Try some #112.5 mains and #20 pilot jets and reclip the jet needles to the 4th slot. You should also buy some #17.5 pilot jets as the #20s may be on the rich side but the open and short pipes will be a challenge to jet for.

That would be the main jet. It is FAR too small for any KZ650. Hard to understand why anyone would install this small a main jet or where they got it in the first place. The normal range of mains for a 650 is 90.5 to 102.5. I never install anything except 102.5 mains as the others are kind of puny even for a stock airbox.

I wasn't able to find that size (75) on the z1 site. Again I thank you for your help.
