I CHECKED Z-1 SITE FOR CLUES BUT I CANT SEE THE TOPS OR THE BOTTOM OF THE BOWLS....PLUS I M GETTING TIRED!...IF THEY ARE , I THINK THEY MIGHT BE LATER ONES....I THINK 29S ARE GOING TO BE OUT OF THE QUESTION FOR NOW FINANCIALLY....I WOULD LIKE TO AT LEAST STEP UP TO 28 TO REPLACE MY 26.....THANKS...KEITH

if they are like he says that they came off of a z1-r then they are 28 mm carbs hard to tell from the pictures thou.

1973 z1 2-1974z1-a,2-1975z1-b dragbikes1015cc+1393cc, 1977kz1000,1978kz1000,1981kz1000j, 1997 zx-11, 2000 z12r,1428turbo nitrous pro-mod and a shit load of parts thats all for now leader sask.,CANADA

I THINK THE SINGLE FEED IS A 28 MM TRAIT....BUT I M NOT SURE...IF THEY ARE WHAT HE SAYS, I WOULD GRAB THEM AND HAVE GEORGE DO A REBUILD......

Those are 28's. Beware the idle adjust knob is on the bottom side. PIA to adjust idle without burning your hand on the engine.

Could be wrong, but didn't think these Mikuni VM28SS carbs were really all that "rare" as touted in the listing. Other members will likely know more about how readily available these carbs might or might not be.

These carbs were oem (factory stock) on 1978KZ1000-D1 (cafe racer), 1979KZ1000-A3 (standard model), and 1979KZ1000-D2 (cafe racer), and perhaps others.

Being manual slide (not CV), I consider such carbs user friendly and easy to get along with. The listed carbs appear clean, but that's usually impossible to really know without actual disassembly and inspection, unless lucky enough to get bolt-on perfect performers.

i would buy these expecting to rebuild....i would guess my throttle cables would work and i think they would use the same manifold boots ...we ll see what happens.....
