Hi all,

I don't think my ZN700 has the original gas tank (at least it doesn't match the service manual or parts diagrams). And it came without a lot of the hoses that I would expect it to have.

I checked some of the other hose questions and answers and I seem to be really dense on this subject because I'm not figuring it out. :(

So here's a picture of the bottom of my gas tank with notes about where the 2 hoses that it did come with go, and some notes on where the other nozzles come out. Can you help me figure out where hoses should go from/to?

Underside of tank:

Top of tank:

There's no hoses going back to canister under the air filter and no hoses going into the air filter housing at the top. AAAUUURRRGGGHHH !!!

As usual any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,:)

Hey ZN,
The tube from below the fuel level sender needs to drain down by the swing arm right where the carb drain hoses are routed. Your petcock is connected correctly. As far as "Also Fuel Out", I couldn't begin to tell you where to connect it. Do you mean that fuel also comes out of this connection?

The tube on top of the tank toward the rear would either connect to the evaporative canister or can be routed along with the carb drains.

Hope this helped.

The recalcitrant bike should not vex!

KZCSI,
Helps alot thanks.

Yes the "Also fuel out" send gas out, even when I don't get fuel out of the petcock (tank is "empty"). I was thinking is might be reserve tank but then didn't know how to connect it to carbs.

AROBSUM,

Definitely a "fuel out". To what? I don't know.

fuel injection has a fuel out and a return line. quite possible that this tank was built with fuel injection in mind. other than that, i can't think of why the tank would have the extra fittings.

Hey ZN,
Arobsum has it right. That connection is for a fuel return line. Just cap it off securely.

KZ, Arobsum,
Thanks. Can't believe someone was actually riding around with that nozzle open- it drips gas :woohoo:

I'll plug it.
