Got my E-bay kz 400 carbs today was created by oldkaws4ever
Wow these are in really bad shape, no freaking way they came off of a running bike, unless they ment it was running 10 years ago......lol. My first problem is, the left starter plunger for the choke is frozen in place, any ideas for getting it to come loose? I have it soaking in WD-40 right now. Tommorow im going to the parts store to get a paint can size can of berryman's carb cleaner to soak everything in. Plus the nipple were you hook up the fuel line is clogged with what im guessing is gas. Im going to take out every thing i can then soak the whole thing in the carb solution.

Be careful with carb cleaner around rubber or plastic parts. It will swell or eat anything not metal.

Note sure K&L or any bike shop will get a starter plunger. K&L sure doesn't carry them. I am one of their dealers although I don't sell parts... I just buy them.

Any ideas on getting the starter plunge out? It is tuck in place, im thinking about taking a propane torch and slightly heating the part around the starter plunge and pulling it out.

went to the parts store today and got the big paint can size of the berrymans carb solution. I tore the left carb apart and put it in the solution, i going to leave it in there for a couple days and see what happens. hopefully it will clean everything up real good.

I got that pesky starter plunger out finally....lol I doused it in WD-40 and let it sit overnight. Put some more in and slowly started twisting back and forth and " WOOSH" that little bugger flew halfway through the garage.
