i cant seem to get the airbox out of my 1980 kz1000ltd, is there some special trick or do i have to take out the carbs? i searched but couldnt find anything, most likely i suck at searching and it would be awesome if someone could point me in the right direction, thanks.

take out the carb's much easier that way unless you want it out in pieces in that case plummen has the tool i'm sure you can borrow.

WOW! Someone asking how to remove an airbox without anyone asking why or cautioning them as to what they are getting into. I guess it nobody's business as to why but can't hurt to ask. May just save someone from a undesirable experience. May get told to MYOB too. So why do you want to remove the airbox?

maybe its another one of those kawasaki airbox worshipping cults where they dance around at night wih airboxes on their heads! then again hes probably just working on it and wants to shine it up!:laugh:
